Lecture Series

A series of four lectures is held in April and October of each year. A theme is developed with members from the Lecture Series Committee, and speakers are identified.

The fee for each lecture series is $65, with all proceeds going to the Scholarship Program. Last year’s series featured Poetry as Emotional Truth” and “Artificial Intelligence and its Impact on Our Lives Today and in the Future.”

Lunch and Learn

Speakers are invited to talk on topics of interest during luncheon sessions in the Fall and Spring that are held in locations such as restaurants, libraries and lecture rooms. There may be a cost for the lunch, depending on the location. Library venues are generally brown-bag lunches; in restaurants, the cost is determined by the restaurant, and shared by attendees. Last year’s Lunch and Learn speakers included  Nicholas Dawidoff, author of The Other Side of Prospect, Stuart Firestein of Columbia University on his book, Optimism from the Perspective of a Neuroscientist, Richard Lalli of Mirror Visions Ensemble, and more.
