Dr. David Blight, Sterling Professor of American History, will speak on "Frederick Douglass and the Fate of our Democracy:  How I Came to Study America's Most Famous Former Slave for Much of MyLife."  He is the Director of the Gilder Lehrman Center for the Study of Slavery, Resistance, and Abolition at Yale and the Pulitzer Prize winning author of the biography, Frederick Douglass.
