THE PUBLIC IS INVITED TO JOIN US FOR THIS IMPORTANT EVENT, HOSTED BY THE YUWO CLIMATE ACTION NETWORK.
SPEAKER: Lonnie Reed, Board Chair of the Connecticut Green Bank, will speak to us about the Green Bank’s pivotal role in mobilizing solar and other energy advances to confront Climate Change.
A former State Representative for 10 years, Lonnie served as House Chair of the Legislature’s Energy and Technology Committee, and was instrumental in winning bipartisan passage of Public Act 11-80, which created the Green Bank and added the Energy division to what is now DEEP – The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.
The Green Bank is a quasi-public agency that successfully attracts private investment to supplement government funding, making the people’s money go farther and helping to fast track critical objectives.
The focus of Lonnie’s talk will be: “Where is Connecticut now on our Climate Change Journey, and how do we get where we need to go?”
