Spring Lecture Series

This Spring, we are showcasing theaters in the Yale-New Haven community and we will explore their histories, successes, obstacles and exciting plans for the future.  The New Haven community is home to many dedicated and successful theaters and we are fortunate to hear from representatives of five outstanding organizations.  The lectures will be held from 10:30 to Noon at the Yale West Campus Conference Center.  We hope you will stay for lunch at the cafeteria to continue discussions with the presenters. The fee for the Series is $65.  Should you, as a member, wish to bring a friend (who might consider joining YUWO?) the cost would be $10 for a session.  The YUWO Lecture Series is the primary fundraiser for the Scholarship Program.

Rachel Alderman is a proud member of A Broken Umbrella Theatre, where she has collaborated to create Seen Change!, Gilbert the Great, Freewheelers, The Library Projects, Head Over Wheels, Vaudevillain, iMarvelThunderbolt, and Short Story by a Tree. By day, you can find her as the Artistic Associate at Hartford Stage. Since moving to New Haven in 2006, Rachel has worked with Collective Consciousness, Elm Shakespeare, the International Festival of Arts & Ideas, Hartbeat Ensemble, Long Wharf Theatre, and New Haven Theater Company, among others. Rachel is the 2013 recipient of the Denham Fellowship from the Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation. Creating new work with her husband, friends, and kids is a dream come true.
