Scholarship Eligibility and Application
YUWO scholarships are for women associated with Yale through their own work affiliation or that of their immediate family members (past or present). Accredited programs at two- and four-year colleges, universities, and accredited online programs for bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees are eligible. (Federal tax regulation and YUWO prohibit YUWO scholarships to be awarded to YUWO members or their immediate families.)
Applicants are judged upon merit and need. The award may be used only for unmet financial need of course tuition and academic fees. Awards are paid directly to the institution. The number and dollar value of awards vary. Recent awards range from $2,500 to $10,500.
Application Process
- Download and complete the application and email it, along with the required application materials to: scholarships@yuwowomen.org.
- Recommendations are to be sent as a PDF directly from the recommender’s email address to: scholarships@yuwowomen.org.
- Completed applications due MARCH 31, 2025.
- The applicant’s W-2 and 2024 tax return must be received by April 1, 2025.
- Applicants will be informed of the Scholarship Committee’s decisions by April 30, 2025.
- Current and past scholarship recipients may reapply for one additional year. See the application form for required application materials.
- Individuals who applied but did not receive a scholarship may reapply in subsequent years. These individuals are considered new applicants and must submit a full application.
- Incomplete applications will not be considered.
- It is the responsibility of the applicant to confirm that all application materials have been received.
