Frick Museum Tour

Organized by Dana Nelson

Who’s ready for the Gilded Age?

Open to a maximum of thirty YUWO members, we’re headed to the Frick Collection located in the former mansion of industrialist Henry Clay Frick, showcasing his collection of Old Master paintings. Located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, we’ll meet at Union Station in New Haven and take the train into Grand Central. We’ll hop a bus to take us to his home at 1 East 70th Street. Closed for renovations, Frick’s historic home reopened last spring.

Our private one hour guided tour on Thursday, Feb. 26th at 11:30 AM will showcase three objects in the collection and allow us to discuss the pieces with our guide after which we can spend as much time as we choose to see the collection. There is no restaurant at the museum so I will have further details for lunch later.

The Frick tour will cost $20 at the time of registration excluding transportation and lunch costs. Please note that the cost of the tour can fluctuate determined by the number of registrants. This amount reflects 15 of us registering for the trip.

Those who want to spend more time in the city are welcome to do so.  Manhattan trips offer great flexibility to suit the interests of our members.

In case you missed it…fascinating!
